Feynlab was founded by John Suerth — widely regarded as the inventor of the automotive ceramic coating — with nano-coatings researcher Philip Coetzee. It's the only fully vertically integrated coating maker in the US: they mix their own chemistry from scratch, in their own reactors, rather than rebottling someone else's. Third-largest in the world, and named in a nod to Richard Feynman, the father of nanotechnology. Gloss isn't armour.
A ceramic coating protects against chemicals, water and UV, and makes every wash effortless — but it can't stop a stone chip. For physical protection you need film. Most serious cars get both.

What makes Feynlab Ultra different from a normal ceramic?
Ultra is Feynlab's flagship 5-year coating — harder, glossier and far more durable than the entry-level products most shops fit. As an ambassador I'm cleared to install it; most detailers can't even buy it.
Why does the paint need correcting first?
A coating seals in whatever's under it. Coat over swirls and you lock the swirls in for years. That's why I correct to a flawless base before any coating goes on.
What's the Self Heal upgrade?
Self Heal is a self-healing ceramic — light swirls and marks lift out with heat, keeping the finish looking freshly done for longer. From £1,199.
Does it really make washing easier?
Massively. Water sheets off, grime struggles to stick, and a rinse does most of the work. Less time washing, less risk of adding swirls, more time enjoying the car.
Should I add PPF as well as ceramic?
They do different jobs. Ceramic gives gloss, slickness and easy cleaning; PPF physically stops stone chips and scratches — the only thing that does. On a car you actually drive I'll usually fit film on the impact panels and ceramic over everything else. I'll recommend the right mix when I see the car.
